Site Building With The End User In Mind

Building a successful Drupal website or platform often involves a lot of configuration & modeling on the needs of the folks who will be using the site & how the content they are producing is exposed.
Who are these ‘end users’ we refer to? They are generally just good people who want to easily get work done & we’ve been those people - in Drupal 5, Drupal 6 & Drupal 7.

Does my Drupal backend look weird to you?

You manage a Drupal site, adding content, curating the homepage. You had some developers build it for you, or maybe you built it yourself. There are some things that are sort of frustrating and confusing, but that's just how Drupal is, right? It's totally normal, right? Wait, are you saying that maybe it's not and maybe it's just my site? Oh my god, does my backend look weird to you? Like..... in a bad way?

Drupal Beyond the Browser: Using Drupal to Power Apps and Touchscreens

There’s a lot of talk about headless architectures and using CMSes in conjunction with front-end JavaScript frameworks to make better websites and webapps. But what if you want to use Drupal for something other than a website? This session will focus on how Bluecadet used Drupal to power a user-orientation application installed on touchscreens throughout the Field Museum in Chicago. The touchscreens provide maps, schedule information, and the ability to send items to your phone.

Branching Out with LeafletJS

Leaflet is a great lightweight Open Source JS mapping library that can pair very well with Drupal. The LeafletJS drupal module can easily get you going and with a few other contributed modules you can have some great features to display your Data. However, there is so much more that leaflet can do AND there is so much more that the developer can do to customize the user's interaction with your data.

How structured content and the Paragraphs module reignited my Drupal flame

The Paragraphs module is relatively new to the Drupal scene, but has picked up steam lately for those of us who work on content heavy sites.  It allows us as developers and site builders to think about a new way to build our content types - one less reliant on being able to read the minds of our editors and content authors.
